Rosie's Enormous Egg

This week, Rosie laid the biggest chicken egg I have ever seen. I am not in the habit of weighing eggs, but this one just called out for the scale.

I determined that the average egg from my flock weighed about 1.5 to 2.1 ounces. Rosie's egg weighed 2.8 ounces. How on earth did she push it out!?

I think she has an emu in her family history.

You're hilarious! And your geeky side is showing. I've never, in my life, thought to weigh an egg. Of any kind.

My guess? Rosie's on 'roids.

BTW, I've tagged you. See my blog for instructions on how to play. :-)

Claire, I'm responding to the comment you left on my blog...
I have been tickled all morning imagining your chickens in designer outfittings. A flock in frocks, how delightful! Well, and odd too, but in the best way. Thanks.

Giggling at the thought of Rosie in a sitz bath. I doubt that she would be impressed. A more recent egg was actually 3.2 ounces...
