Sheep Obstetrics Department Report!

The Sheep Obstetrics Department at Whispering Acres is pleased to announce the birth of twin ewe lambs Calypso and Clipper, born to Bianca this morning, April 2. Both girls are well and have nursed heartily already. Bianca is also doing well and eating like she might starve otherwise!

Clipper is slightly larger and is a lovely white ewe lamb.

Calypso looks yellowish but that's just mecomium so she is white also but if you look closely, she appears to be wearing "eyeliner" on both eyes! I'm not sure how unusual this is.

Both lambs are active and moving around with relative ease. Here is Calpyso checking out Bianca's horns and thinking that she should probably be a good girl so that Mum won't have to use those horns! We have moved them inside the barn for now and I will take more pictures later when they are drier and fluffier.
We are just so excited and pleased that our first lambs arrived without incident, and that they both appear to be healthy.

Wow!!! and twin ewe lambs, too. Good job! Like the eye liner, it adds something.

OMG congrats! I swear my girls are holding their lambs just to spite me! And then they are going to drop them all at once, all 11 ewes! Your lambies look wonderful!

Oh cute, Easter lambs! So, goats come late and lambs come early at your place, is that it? LOL! Congratulations.

Congrats Claire! Twin ewe lambs are always a good thing in my book. And those fleeces look so curly.
Save those belly and udder shots for reference next year. I've been scouring my photos comparing last year's sizes with this year's. No lambs here yet.

Congratulations on two beautiful ewes lambs. We now have 27 lambs, 20 ewes, 7 rams. They are very active parading around the corral, doing their gymnastics!!!

Hooray! Your shearer sure knows his stuff, huh? I had no idea baby lambs really DO look like those figures from my Christmas creche. Can't wait to see the fluffier versions!

I learn so much from reading your blog, it's crazy!

So, Claire, this city girl had to look up mecomium or whatever it was - so you just found a nicer way of saying lamb poop?!!! (VBG)

And my WV is lessn - short for lesson?
