Moments with Number

As Lucky Nickel has told you already, we went to visit Isobelle and her friends on the long journey from Iowa to Canada.  Isobelle lives with other goats and some mini horses, and also a wonderful retired racehorse named Number.
I am particularly fond of Number.
He's very gentle, and I feel drawn to him somehow. Maybe it's because, when I was about 8 or 9 years old, I went to summer horse-riding camp, so he reminds me of my childhood.
Maybe it's because he's a retired racer, just like my greyhound, and I know how much he appreciates the wonderful home he has with Bev and her other four-legged friends.
Or maybe, it's because he brought me some very precious moments of peace and tranquility on a long and stressful journey, which was a rare and special gift.
Thank you Number, for your calming presence and your lovely soft nose.  Sending you long distance love!

Ooo, looky, he's a therapy horse now! He's a pretty boy; got that beautiful noble thoroughbred face. Did Lucky Nickel get to get out and meet the others, or did she have to stay separated? (Can't remember the goat word for "quarantine.") :)

What lovely pictures of you and Number, who has clearly won the sweepstakes in his retirement homing.

Number Bumber really loves you, Claire! He has such soft eyes when you are giving him snuzzles!

A nice horse, to be sure, but didn't you get snuzzles from Isobelle?

I'm so happy for you that you had the chance to stop and visit Bev and all the critters on your way "home". Number is a beauty - and he definitely loves you!

What a great friendship! Kindred spirits don't have to be the same species.

They are the best type of horse to own, mine is a love bug as well.
I will be sure to do a post for you on the sheep, I have one here for you ;)
ps- I called a woollen mill to try to get them to spin me a blend of Cotswold/Highland...we will see.
You are welcome to try to spin it,they are starting to shed their winter coat now if you wanted me to collect you some..oh and it feels like velvet on the new babies!
