Luna, now that she's dried off a bit!

Luna has been around for a couple of hours now, so she is dried off and looking very fluffy. Stuffin is definitely finished kidding because everything else came out as it was supposed to, but since this was her first kidding, it is not surprising that she only had a single. I gave her the warm Karo syrup and water and she drank that down in a hurry. She also got some grain and ate that as well. She seems comfortable now, and is laying down with Luna at her side.

Here are some more pictures of Luna, Stuffin, and their ever-so-pleased "Goat Mom" (that would be me!). She's so tiny!

Hello world! I wish the flash didn't do that cloudy thing to her eye - it doesn't look like that. Her eyes are a light brownish hazel colour.

See their matching head spots? What a cute pair!

And "It's a girl!" Lucky you. The trouble with cow babies is that you can't cuddle with them. She is precious.

Can she come live with me? Never mind the fact that I have no place to keep a goat...She's awfully cute!

It's always fun to see the face behind the blog, too! :-)

look at the little hooves
and I want a closeup on the lips, aren't goat lips so soft? I've always smooched/kissed SweetPea on the lips.

Whew! Things are happening so fast!
I hopped over here when I saw your post in my Follower's list: "CountDown" with the pic of Stuffin's udder.

And now...not only has the countdown ended, there is a beautiful, all cleaned-up baby doe goat! Too darn sweet!

Congrats!!

word verification: 'fairy'

Your little goat is as beautiful as a little fairy! Cute name idea, too. hehe

Whoowee!!! I just read all 3 baby posts at once - I missed the action! What a beautiful little girl, and I love her name. Talked to Diane tonight - she made it safely to my sister's house in NC - but I hadn't learned about the baby yet. She said she was looking forward to visiting you when the weather warms. Welcome, Luna!!!

Hi Blaire!

The kid is fantastic! Had to laugh at the duck/oil fiasco, What's a guy to do after a mucky oil change tho'? Get inside and cleanup and get a cup of tea if he's anything like me...yeah so the ducks shouldna gone paddling! Haha.

Anyhow hope you both find the book helpful when it lands.

Simon.

Congrats, she is adorable!! She looks like a nice sized healthy baby girl! Now WHY do they always pick days when the weather is less than desirable? Glad it's over with and all went well!! I can't wait to see more pics of her as she grows....you gave her the perfect name!

Thank you all!

Sharrie - I am sure cow babies are cuddle-able but one must be more creative about it!

Nancy - It was so quick! Thanks for all your help and advice!

Martianchick - she could come to you for a vacation!

Joanna - goat lip shot will be forthcoming at a later date!

Lisa - Fairy would have been a cute name! I'll save that for another one! How is it that you get all these cool word verifications, and mine are always a mess of letters?

Kristi - how is Sassy doing? I need to catch up on your blog! So glad you liked the ornaments! I had fun making them!

Diane's Mom - you'll have to see Luna when you visit Diane!

Simon - wow! A family member visit! What fun! I have so few real family members, it's all the more exciting! I think probably Kelly would skip the tea and go straight for the chocolate milk, but yes, that's a typical post-oil-change response! Book? You sent us a book?! We LOVE books! Thank you! Shall be lookign forward to it! (p.s. My name is Claire, not Blaire) ;-)

Blackcatcreekfarm - I agree! She could have waited a couple of days until it warms up! We have heat lamps in the corner of her stall for her and Luna keeps gravitating to that corner, even when Stuffin doesn't, so she's not only healthy, she's also smart!!
