Why yes, as a matter of fact, I did change my blog title!

OK, so if you happen to follow my blog, or even if you just read it once in a while, you might notice that I changed the title. The title changed because that is actually the name that we have chosen for our little farm. I started out with the "Is this Heaven? No, This is Iowa" title because it was a line from my favourite film, "Field of Dreams."

I didn't know exactly what to call the blog when I started it, and that seemed to fit at the time. It still does fit, but the bottom line is, I prefer it to be named after our farm. I've left the line from the film in the description, because every day that I live here, I have to remind myself that this really is Iowa, and it really isn't heaven. Sometimes, I get the two confused!

So, I'm sorry if you have to update links or get used to the new title, but Whispering Acres is the name that we chose, and it's the name we put on our eggs that we sell, and it will be the name that goes on my fibre/fiber (Canadian/American spelling) products that I sell from the farm. I tried to make my own background tonight, but it didn't work. I'll have to try that again sometime. It came out way too small. Grumble...

I don't think I'll change the name again, but I never say never! ;-)

I love the name! My blog name will also change when we finally decide on a farm name.

I second Christy, it's a great name! Now I'll have to watch "Field of Dreams." I've never seen it. But I know how you can get Iowa/heaven confused... I feel the same about Alaska!

I love that name as well. It took a long time before we chose our name. We gave up sort of and used our street address for the name. Your name sounds nice and relaxing...

Congrats on the new name! Trying to come up with an identity for a farm is such an interesting process, but when you hit on the right one...its magic.

I really like even the SOUND of your new farm name - it rolls off the tongue! I'll bet it made all your critters proud, and they are probably chattering about it in the barn.

I really like the name! The background is very pretty too. I look forward to the background that you are working on.

Break out the champagne! The farm has been christened! (Alright, I admit that I search for opportunities to break out the champagne, but this truly is an occasion.)Congratulations!

Love the new name!
Another question: I finally tried using one of the free backgrounds from Cutest Blog on the Block. Now, however, blogger won't let me rearrange my page elements so they are on the side again.

Any ideas?

I like the name a lot! Did you buy a rubber stamp to stamp your eggs? Did I miss a post about that? I like that idea and am definitely stealing it from you.

Ok, so now I feel grateful that our farm name was already created before we even had a farm! hehe

So why Whispering Acres? I can't imagine that your animals whisper. But maybe you might wish them, too.

Do you have trees that whisper?

Your new buck has lovely locks. Will you be bathing him in the bathtub, too? Depending upon how his fleece cleans up, you might want to sell his curls for doll making. :)

I like the name---very fitting.
I also love the pictures of the ducks in snow. You have a beautiful farm....
I also live in Iowa. We live in a tiny little town on the Skunk River. We aren't farmers but we do garden!
